Opinions of the .270 WSM in the Featherweight

Wondering if the Featherweight is a good rifle for the .270 WSM -- or if the Sporter LT or some other might be better suited for the caliber.  Am also wondering what the factory trigger pull is set at for either or both guns.  Thanks and a Happy New Year to all!

I love my Featherweight in 300WSM.  The trigger was set at around 6 lbs.  I lightened it to exactly 3.5 lbs.

I've never shot it but I hear the kick on the 300WSM is noticable.  How is the recoil with the Featherweight with that round?  

Also, would you recommend ithe Featherweight in the 30-06?

I've loaded 180 grain bullets and now load 165 grain bullets.  Both of these loads were at or near max.  The 165 grain load is max at 65.5 grains of H4350.

It feels like to me that the recoil is considerably less than that of a 300WIN MAG out of a Winchester Stainless Laminated.  

You feel a pretty good snap when shooting it from the bench, but when hunting you hardly feel a thing.

I can recommend the Featherweight rifle in particular because I have one.  I don't think anyone would ever go wrong with a 30-06 Springfield.  But I don't own a FW chambered for that round.

Well the FWT used to be heavier than the Sporter LT, but as of 1 Jan the Sporter LT stock has been thinned out and is now the Sporter III. The FWT is now available in stainless and wood. A nice looking rifle I might add. I am looking at getting one in 7mm WSM myself. The weight is rate at 7lbs 4oz, on both rifles now.

I've got a featherweight in 270 WSM and it is a dream to shoot.  The heavier sporter barrels on the WSMs makes for a great looking and shooting rifle.
