Have you ever fallen??
« on: August 04, 2004, 05:50:50 AM »
Have you ever lost the nack and can't catch anything no matter what you do??  Well every year it just gets worse for me, while i'm catching a few but not as many as I did years before.  Then i woke up to what I was doing before that mattered more than i thought it did.  I wasn't following the moon phases like i did before.  I was going by the maori charts on Outdoorlife and last year it wasn't there and this year too.  So I had to find new solunar tables to go by.
 There at;  http://www.primetimes2.com/pages/4-astrotables.html

And sure enough this morning as i left the house the moon was overhead and the fish were on.  While i missed a few i did catch a few too.  It was awesome to just get strikes again like I was before.  I feel like a "born again fisherman"  I was given a new life again, a desire to go fishing everyday.  In fishing from shore the moon is a key role in success too.

Lastweek I lost the new state record, I watched a fish for two days out of my reach kicking up minnows out of the water and some doing tail walks. I finally got a topnocker out to it and i hooked up and the battle was on for about 5 to 8 minutes then I lost it and the topnocker too.  It went down in the weeds since it was a very long cast I couldn't get it up and it just pulled line at will.  This is the second time we had this bass on in two years now in the same spot.  The visions of a new state record and the $$$ came and went.   Thats how it goes I guess I haven't earned it yet.  But the hunt is still on!!!  I ordered two more topnockers from BPS too.

Maybe your right I wake up at 3:30am everyday to go and i make it out of bed and go back again as the sun is comming up.  I'm missing a lot of good times on the water and the last few years I was out everyday.   I have to start going more soon before its over.          BigBill

The other day i showed up late and my buddies were still there and they said its slow and first cast I nailed a bass.  Of course we all use different baits too.

Sorry I haven't been around here in a while please feel free to send me a private message if i don't answer you right away in the future.

I fish by the moon phases and i go by the best times to fish and hunt at outdoorlife.  I fish by the "excellent times" in the early am when its at the right time and everything matches up. I fish extra hard during the full moon phases too nights and early mornings.                  BigBill
