Hey, I LIKE this game! The way your rules play, you've got me BUYING more guns.
Currently I have a muzzle loader handgun. Does that count as the centerfire, or the rimfire? Or doesn't it count at all, in which case I'd have to go buy 2 more guns.
I've got a .54 flintlock and a .357 lever action. So I could count my flintlock as the rimfire - but it would be hell on squirrels. Otherwise, I'd hafta go shopping again.
I've got the 12 gauge.
But what about the pipsqueak .22 youth model for my kids? Since they're too young to legally own a firearm, it's legally mine, but they're the ones who shoot it.
And I've got a second .357 lever action, but this one is for my wife and/or kids when they get bigger.
I suppose you'd want to know what I'd go shopping for. I'm currently interested in getting a .357 Ruger Black Hawk. Since you're buying, I'll make it a stainless steel version. Letsee, I suppose a single action .22 Ruger as well. Then a lever action .22 to fill the rimfire rifle void. As long as the muzzle loaders don't count, I'm figurin' I keep those.
Why? I really like the .357 mag. It's a good all-round gun. You can jack it up for big game, self defense, then with .38 spls you can plink all day with it, shoot squirrels and rabbits. Cast your own bullets and you can reload for $2/box (you see why I don't really feel the need for a rimfire?). Reloading is simple with straight cased pistol brass. Straight cases and light loads mean you can reload the brass so many times that the cost of brass is nearly negligible. Bullets come in all sorts of varieties. Factory ammo can be found at any Wal Mart. Factory ammo is cheap.
I would get the rimfires in single action and lever action just because that's what I like. Hell, there was a time when those were way too modern for me.
