Old Cast Bullets

I have some cast bullets that are somewhere between 10 and 15yrs old and getting a little crusty and I was wondering as they get older does the hardness change? (As I re read this it is bullets I'm talking about !)  I bought them alongtime ago for my 44mag and I want to use them in a standard 44spl load.  I just don't want a bore full of lead if I can help it.

Do you know what alloy they are cast from? They do get softer over time. How's the lube on them? If the lube is in good shape, not dirty or dusty they should work just fine at 44spl velocitys.
