Walmart Guns Website
« on: July 04, 2005, 03:11:17 PM »
I know a lot of you guys have been to the Walmart website for special order guns and ammunition. I go there now and then to check on prices as a comparison to what I'm seeing the new guns sold for locally. There seems to be a problem at their site. They don't have but two guns you can actually bring up on the site. It has been this way for more than a week and I'm starting to wonder what's going on over there.

Thanks! That explains a lot, maybe, I think?    Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's just an update. It is hard to believe that a company the size of Walmart would take this long for an update to their page.
Thanks,
Don

I went there about 2 months ago to check a few things out. I went to also look at prices of HOWA and they still haven't finished that part
You figure a big corperation would have better sight updates and workers to update them.

Big Blue. Please change your setting on this thread to not be watching and asking for an e-mail notice for new posts. Your e-mail is bouncing junk mail to me every time.

For some reason AOL has stopped ALL e-mail from the GBO server from being delivered it. It's sending me a junk mail each time. I am seriously considering just stopping AOL customers from using this site. I'm really getting tired of the head aches AOL is causing. I've made no decision yet but am really thinking on it.

Well guys, I intend to check this out further, but here's a copy of an email I received from the Wally.

Thank you for contacting us at Walmart.com. Your comments and questions
are very important to us as we strive to meet your needs.

If you cannot find a specific product on our site, it is because we do

Hummm..I checked out the sale catalog at my Walmart just last week. They added a lot of new model rifles from several manufactures. H&R/NEF-had the new Fluted Varmint versions, Pinnicle and AutoExcell shotgus too.
Even carrying CZ, Spartan(EAA), and almost the full line of HOWA.
I guess it varies from different stores/area/suppliers?

Just checked out the Wally World special order site.  They have updated their site.  The new models are listed with the price changes.  On the shotgun pages they have listed the Excel and the Pinnacle on the single shot pages, but they are listed with prices.  I also noticed that the TDC 20 is listed.

Well I hate to say it.......there was a time when Wally World beat everyone else's prices on the H&R/NEF line, but they have succombed to the national epidemic of greed apparently. The New Ultra Fluted rifles are being sold at the local shop I visit in OKla. City for $249, $30 less than Wally, no .204's yet but I bet they would order one. They also have a Buff Classic there for $312, the same as Wally's price on it. Toppers are $106 and Pardners are $93. I also have found a place in El Reno, OK where the Ultra Varmints and plain Ultras are $239. So looks like Wally will only get my business on a have-to basis from now on. Sad....I have spent a lot of my gun money allotments there lately. Luckily I got my Ultra Varmint .243 just before the price increase. I even told them that a higher price was posted, but they checked and let me have it for the $230.xx, came to $249.xx OTD.  :D

I just checked Walmarts site, I'm glad it was an update and they didn't deep six it. They may have gone up on their items, but they are still cheaper than most. I mostly use their site to check on prices compared to local gun shops. I'll gladly pay a premium to keep the local guys up and running.

Bill,
I believe I have the setting changed. Is there something that an AOL customer do to smooth the way? It doesn't seem to be an anti-gun prejudice on their part, in as much as I am able to receive notifications from other gun related websites. While I would hate to miss out here, if the problem continues please just let me know and I'll stop using the site. I don't want to cause you or this site any problems.
