Encore hammer extension
« on: June 25, 2005, 08:54:16 AM »
I put a hammer extension on my encore but it will not stay put. I will get the screw very tight and even put tape and other things around the hammer to try and keep it from moving.

after a few shots the hammer extension will slip down.

anyone having this same troubles? or a way to stop it

from what i understand encore hammers have been breaking if extenions are put on. i bought a encore last fall and after comparing it's hammer to my tc's i can see why some are breaking from the added wieght. i would put on higher scope mounts if cocking is a problem.
be safe and god bless

Havent had any problems with mine after several hundred rounds. It secures with a set screw that kinda chews up the hammer but other than that it works fine.

I quit using them long ago. I just bought higher rings and no more problem.  :D

I use one on my encore that I purchased from Mike -----.  It has never come loose at all.  Seems to have a larger set screw than some that I have seen.
