A Few H&R Questions
« on: June 28, 2005, 08:08:16 PM »
Will the buttstock and forearm from a Topper Deluxe Classic fit a Buffler Classic?

Does H&R sell the buttstock and forearm for a Topper Deluxe Classic by itself?

Has anyone tried to rebore a Handi Rifle to 35 Whelen or 9.3 x62?  Will the gun handle the pressure?

Haven't even got the gun home from layaway yet ($150 left) and stupid questions like this are keeping me up at night.

There are no "Dumb" questions here.
Yes, the stocks from a Topper Deluxe Classic will fit on a Buffalo Classic.  That's a good choice, IMO.  Those walunt stocks are real nice.
I can't answer the question about the conversions, but I am sure someone will chime in with answers to that for ya.
As for being kept up at night...Do you think you are alone?  There is no cure.  We "Handiholics" just have to deal with that. LOL
I don't know if the TDC stocks are available, yet, from the factory.  They are still trying to get out the TDC 20ga models and may not be shipping any for accessory orders.  You can find the email address and phone numbers for the factory in the Sticky at the beginng of the forum pages.  Give'em a call or send an email and they can answer that for you.
Good Luck with your BC.  Post a pic when you get it all together.

A Few H&R Questions

There were a few (like 500 or 1000) rifles made in 35 Whelen back in 1996 or so. If you find one at a dealer or in the classifieds at a normal price, grab it. They go for much more than a new gun on internet auctions.

A few guys have had them made, usually from a 25/06. (the factory whelen also had a 26" barrel) Figure on paying a couple hundred to rebore & rifle the barrel. If you rebored a 30/06 Ultra Comp barrel, you'd probably be the only kid on the block with a muzzle brake on a 35 Whelen Handi-rifle.
