Shooting USA had a show on a few weeks ago, a repeat actually, but
they shot the different types of handguns to see which one is the worlds most powerful handgun. Here is a link to the shows web site if your interested it also includes the 454 and 480.

Damn, the Desert Eagle is IMHO the nicest looking hand gun on the plant. But, that 10" inch bbl makes it look so cheezy IMHO.

I think it's funny that the only automatic in the test was shooting a revolver cartridge, while another revolver was shooitng the .50AE. Why didn't they get a .50AE desert eagle and a .44 mag revolver? Ah well, I thought it was sort of ironic.

Just my opinion, but if it doesn't kill and field dress it in one single shot, then it isn't powerful enuff.   :-D

No surprise that the S&W 500 blows the rest away...I'd like to see how the new 460 compares.

The 460 S&W will be a powerful gun but it will not compare to the S&W 500
in power. The 500 can shoot a 270gr bullet 200 yds accurately. No problem. :D

I shot a Handy Rifle in the .500 S&W the other day and I`m here to tell you you will know when it goes off. It kicked alot harder then my .500 S&W handgun does, I`m sticking with the handgun. I`ve got scope mounts on mine and a 2 1/2 x 8 Leupold VX 111 eer comming for it. If the scuker wasn`t so heavy I would carry it full time for deer, but I am planning on useing mine for stand hunting and my .454 for a walk around gun. I know they are over kill as I have taken a pile of deer with the .44 mag., but I just like to shoot big bore handguns.
