CD with Prairie Dog Trip Photos
« on: June 10, 2005, 01:20:35 PM »
Hello Everyone.

I posted this on the P-Dog Shoot Trip Forum, but I figured to post here for the ones that could not make the trip but wanted too.

Just got back a little while ago...

DJ and I took our time driving the 1600 miles back...

Anyone who would like a CD with all the photos that DJ and I took (about 350) just PM me where you want the CD snail-mailed to.

Anyone means people who made the trip and the people who WANTED to be there.

NO COST, I have plenty of blank CDs.

The first 22 CD packages should arrive Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the Post Office.

Since first mailing, I have 4 more requests to do, hope to work on them tonight. Never to late to get one.

Got mine today also. Thanks Mike. Been looking thru it. Noticed some ugly old man with a gray beard on some of them. The wife said she vaguely remembered seeing a fellow who looked like that somewhere before.  :-D

Got my CD yesterday and really enjoyed looking.  Although I wasn't there. looked to me like there was more tall tale telling than actual shooting.  Guess ya had to give them barrels time to cool and the pd time to reorganize.

Thanks Grandpa Mike, great job!

My pkg. arrived yesterday
« Reply #15 on: June 23, 2005, 05:28:44 AM »
I had just returned from a funeral yesterday afternoon, when I found the pkg. from GrampaMike. The CD with the pictures of the Prairie Dog Shoot in OK.
As I was viewing the slide show, the generosity GrampaMike is evident for his doing this and offering them free to those who ask for them. Also, the following things are very obvious:

1. Grampamike is most gracious for taking the time and effort to produce these for us, and to ship them us on his dime.
2. The biggest thing in the pictures was the fellowship, stories told, tips swapped, advice given. Being able to put a face with the “handle” can be both enlightening and surprising.
3. Efforts by fellow shooters can come together to create an atmosphere that even though the weather may not cooperate to make for a flawless shoot, there was backup plan to make the trip more than worth it.
Even though there are plenty of pictures of prairie dogs, different types of shooting bench set-ups and rifle types, the most evident was the fellowship that abounds at these events. The pictures show the crux of why these can be such successful get-togethers.

After viewing these pictures, I really regret not being there for this one. Maybe next year!!!  I can see why everyone there seems to be enjoying them selves and rightfully so .
From reading the reports, and seeing the pictures, we can really see what a Great Event the rest of us missed.

IMHO only the caliber of people here and our online sponsors, can execute such a high-class outing.

Thanks to GrampaMike for putting all the pieces together for this old man from Arkansas.
Thanks to Graybeard, and all of you guys who worked so hard to make this happen.

Maybe next year for me.

Thanks Norse.

Please do not send me anything, I owe so much to the people on this web site, just my way of paying back a little.

Hope you get to come to next years "Shoot", and bring your son, it will something you both will never forget.

If anyone needs/wants a CD, not too late.  Because I have another batch to make.  Get your requests in.

Thanks, Mike.

Yep, me too.  Mike is a great guy to make the CD for all of us.  There was no way I could go as that weekend was my 50th wedding anniversary, had big family plans.  But maybe I can make it next year.  Thanks again Mike.
