One thing that I found out about the foaming bore cleaners is they settle to the bottom of the bore after a while and don't have as much affect on the top half of the bore, the result is it appears that the bore isn't clean so you apply it again. If you invert the rifle(scope side down) for about half the soak cycle, it will clean it well it one, maybe 2 cycles at most, depending on how fouled the bore is. I've been a dyed in the wool Hoppe's lover for about 50yrs, and for the last 20yrs or so using Hoppe's BR, it's good stuff, but Wipeout and Outers are better and will clean a badly fouled bore much faster and without any brushing.....if you use it right. :wink:
