Autoloading rifles have poorer triggers far some very important reasons. The trigger has to retain the sear or striker while the autoloaders action is banging around in the reload cycle. Most triggers can be improved but how much is very much a function of the action type.. There is a reason that bolt actions predominate in shooting sports that require the bewst of trigger control.. Autoloader triggers can be improved but are NOT the place for a beginner. A miss queue can create a dangerous situation that can reach lethal proportions.. If you must it would be wise to ascertain the availability of replacement parts before commencing modifications to existing parts. I've never worked on a 74 trigger but have worked on the rifle, cleaning and replacing broken parts. I would again not advise this as a rifle for a beginner to start with.. good luck
