Crossman 1377 ?
« on: July 11, 2005, 01:47:59 PM »
If you do a search on this website for "1377" It brings up several conversations about the gun. After reading about them I have been wanting to buy one. I got the bug. I like that you can upgrade them with a stock, and a better breech and bolt. Also I have read from Lawdogs previous posts that somewhere you can find a better barrel. I like little projects like this. I have some questions still....

1. What kind of scope is recommended with the shoulder stock? Does it need to be a pistol scope? Does it have to be a tough Airgun scope like the one I have on my Springer?

2. Where do you get a better barrel?

3. What is the best route to mount the scope?

4. What do you use your 1377 for?

I want one because there is a major Pigeon and Ground Squirrel problem here. Nobody else wants to do anything about it so I will be glad too. Any help would be appreciated.
Go out and get yourself a Concealed Weapons License. I did. :gun4:

Why not send Jim Giles at Crooked Barn an e-mail(jim@crookedbarn.com) and tell him what you want to do.  Jim is a great guy that can help with with everything you will need.

To answer your questions lets take them by the numbers.

1.]  No you don't need a pistol scope when using the shoulder stock.  I have Burris R/A(rimfire/air rifle approved) scopes on all my Crosman's(2 1377's & 1 1322).  Like with other pump rifles the scope doesn't really need to be springer approved, just make sure it will focus down to the range you will be shooting.

2.]  Again ask Jim Giles at Crooked Barn.

3.]  The CB Ultimate Breech is the best way to go but you can purchase barrel mounts from Crosman that will do the job.

4.]  Pest control.  Keep one in the barn, one in my reloading shed and one on the back porch(1322).

I like the Crosman 1377 and it lets a person custom fit it to your taste.  Lawdog

I didn't think of that. I have a crapy Airgun scope on my RWS 34. It is a Bushnell, supposedly airgun approved. I have barely used it and already it has a rattle inside. It's my fault, you get what you pay for.....

According to Bushnell the only scopes they make that are approved for “springer” air rifles are the following;

Trophy models
4-12 x 40mm #73-4124
4-12 x 40mm #73-4124M
6-18 x 40mm #73-6184

Banner models
4-12 x 40mm #71-4124
6-18 x 50mm #71-6185

Sportsman models
3-9 x 32mm #72-0038
3-9 x 32mm #72-0039

The Bushnell Trophy 6-18X 40mm #73-6184 I bought the power adjustment ring turns so hard it is virtually un-usable.  Bushnell claims this is normal for variable power scopes and with use it will “wear in”.  Well in the two years I have had this scope it hasn’t "worn in" yet and neither has the Elite 3200 5-15X 40mm #32-5154M that I bought about the same time and that has the same problem.  Bushnell refused to replace these scopes as "there is nothing wrong with them".  After this I don’t purchase Bushnell optics anymore.  Lawdog

It is one of these two. I can't find the recipt for the scope....I am going to drive over to Airguns Of Arizona on Friday and see what they can do about my scope problems. It is supposed to be a nice place. Anyone need anything?
