Did the Extractor conversion on my BC

I love my BC but when I opened it after firing the first shot, the brass flew over the back of the shooting bench and I had to find it in the brush ten feet away!  I can see the value of this in some hunting situations but as a handloader, I was not pleased.  Even holding my hand over it as it ejected was not satisfactory.  Definately not the best situation for a handloader.  Anyway, I looked up the article and followed the instructions I found at the link that Quick supplied.  Super easy to do, I don't think it took me over 15 minutes start to finish.  Love the results!  If you are thinking about this conversion but have been hesitant to try it, have at it.  You will enjoy the way the gun works with the extractor.  44 Man

Shot my H&R BC in .45-70 two weekend ago and was quite pleased with the results. The West End Gun Club public range has La Rue type steel silhouettes set out 110-125 yards up the side of the canyon. I was able to ding them 4 out of 5 times with a Smith rear and factory Lyman front. Tons of fun.

This weekend I hope to bench the gun and see what she can really do with factory ammo. I've modified a replacement ejector into a extractor. I'll need to install it before I hit the range.

Next I need to step up to BP and get serious.

Yes sir, that conversion is mandatory for some, 45-120 brass at over $2 each makes it well worth the minimal effort, not to mention the 405 Winchester and 338-06 A-square brass which costs less but is hard to come by!!
