Depends on what you are using it for, IMO it's good for general plinking and the various forms of target shooting, as for a self defense "man stopper" is suppose it is better than a rock.... :D

OK, now I haven't seen one in person yet, is roughly the same size as a Walther PPK? Weight?

Jim, Yes they are roughly the same size as a ppk, but seem a bit thicker. If I recall I think the model 138 is around a pound and the model 938 is around 2 pounds... Check out Taurus' website, you should be able to get a pic of both models and the tech info on them as well... :D

In the Millenium Pro line from Taurus, all calibers are really close to the same size. Slight difference in width and heigth. I have had the .45 cal. version and have the .40 cal. now. Both have been totally reliable with factory loads. All the Taurus models have 10 round mag. capacity. Not trying to talk you out of the Taurus, but you might take a look at the Bersa Thunder .380's also. I just got one several weeks ago and like it a lot. It is a PPK clone and I like the traditional double action rather than double action only. The Taurus trigger takes some getting used to. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Funny you should mention the Bersa 380, I have had one for 5 months now and it is being sent to Besa to get it fixed.  Ran 5-6 hundred rounds through it and now when you rack the slide the hammer goes back, but when you pull the trigger it won't fire? Up to that point it was a great gun, never had a problem with anything..Hope they fix it right.....

Hope they fix it right. Haven't seen this problem discussed at Bersa Talk. Seems like they generally get high marks for $ spent, but there can be a problem with any of them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Taurus. Have had several pistols and revolvers and never any trouble from any of them. Hope my Bersa holds up because I really like the size and way it fits my hand.
