storing extra barrels??

i should be getting my ultra back anytime with 2 extra barrels....my question is how do you store em?  when they are removed from the gun the scope sticks to far off the back to set on that end and i hate to rest em on the muzzle.....i would like to place them inside my gun safe if possible

I have a few hard cases I store mine in my gun room..but when in the safe...I put them muzzle down and rest the scope and receiver against the back of the safe...you just have to be carefull getting anyother gun out...

I store some of mine in an ADG double shotgun case, it holds 4 scoped barrels securely with velcro straps within the case, sells for about $75, got mine for $57...

I have a few barrels on the wall laying across pairs of vinyl tubing covered deck screws, too.

well nothing can go on the walls for me...my gun safes in the den of my parents house so everything must go inside...when they said my firesafe was a 14 gun....they didn;t mean 14gun + 2 handi barrels!   :-D



p.s. on storing them in hard cases..won;t that draw moisture..i was told to never ever store in a case hard or soft

well..no mortgage..no water/electric/taxes.....and the only thing they complain about is me bringing more guns home.(mom..not dad :grin: ).i can live with that!

I don't have a problem with scopes yet, as I have none.  I store most of mine in the soft case that my combo came with.  It will take up to a 24in barrel and there is enough room for 4 and 2 receivers with stocks.  The extras are stored behind my "hang-up" clothes in the closet.  I slip a white tube sock over each one and it completely covers them from muzzle to breech.  I can't afford a safe yet.  Still working on the CFO to let me chop out a portion of the "Un-used" family room in the lower level for a Gun Room.  Hey, it could happen!!LOL

What to do with accessory barrels?

I found a very simple and easy way to hang them inside your gun safe or cabinet.Take the  part of the rack that  the gun barrel leans on  to keep it stable and drill 3/8" holes through it all the way or as many barrels as you have, then stick 3/8' wooden dowel through holes to hang the barrels by the lug. Its really works  well. I hoped i have made myself clear.

thats a good idea...might have to try it except replacement barrel brackets for my gunsafe (sentry gs5251) are $12 a piece!
