I have a Daisy Powerline 1000s and it is definitely magnum air rifle! As far as being worth the money; 100 bucks for the rifle as well as a good 3-9x32 scope! Apparently those that have put down this rifle either do not own one or have one of the older brazilian made ones. This model is the Hatsan, made in Turkey version; which if purchased from a Hatsan dealer under that name retails for over 200 bucks., gun alone! So, this is an excellent deal. Here's a link to the Hatsan site with a picture of the gun:http://www.hatsan.com.tr/images/air_rifle/mod_70.jpg
Several tests have been performed on it's power and accuracy and many have cronied it in the 9-950 FPS range with CPLites. So, if a less grain lighter weight pellet were used, the 1000fps would be attainable. Accuracy depends on getting used to and controlloing the recoil, as it does have strong recoil.
As far as the scope being hard to stay in place; I first had that problem but found that I just needed to tighten it very tight and that fixed it; no more loosening. Some do use glue or even Loc-tite.
