I need help finding a barrel nut wrench
« on: July 14, 2005, 01:13:09 PM »
I am having trouble finding a barrel nut wrench. Maybe it's because I'm up here in Canada, and don't have access to great stuff like my southern brothers.  :-)

I wonder if any one of you guys can help me locate a wrench? If I could just get one shipped up to me for a reasonable price, I would be greatly indebted.

I bought my 44V used (I hope I have the model description correct). It came with nothing. No extra barrels  :( , no buckle, no wrench, nada.

I love my DW and use it in silhouette shooting. (I'm considering putting a clamp-on scope on it one day. Recommendations?) One of the guys at the silhouette range surprised me and competed with a DW 8" VH. He was kind enough to let me use his wrench, and together we adjusted my gap. I was of course thankfull, but realize that I should have my own wrench.

If you can help me, please drop me a PM.

I ordered one for a 357 about 6 weeks ago and took 3 weeks to come (due to the takeover).

They turn up on eBay fairly regular, although to my mind the prices they fetch are a bit steep.

In my case, I picked up a DW in 22 LR and a machinist friend whittled out a tool for me.

I thought of having one made too, but figured I might actually pay more for one. :-)

The 44Mag barrel and shroud will fit but the ejector cutout needs to be lengthened as the ejector rod on the SM is longer.

If you are interested, I have a number of gunsmith parts, mostly new for DW's. They contributed to me going out of business so I have dumped them in favor of FA. Even though I have two DWs that will outshoot most FAs and equal the rest.

I also have some 303Brit based 445SM brass. Hand made, not cheap but STRONG!
