Will using CCI shotshells in my SBH .44 hurt the barrel?I've been told the shot would get into the twist.Looks like to me all you have to do is clean it well.I carry them when scouting durning Spring and Summer before deer season for snakes;but have never had to fire one....yet..........Rick

Brush the barrel clean and you will not have a problem. CCI makes very reliable ammo and components.

I have never experienced that in my guns. But if it did occur, a quick brushing would take care of that.

I buy the CCI shot capsules for the .38. I fill them with #9 shot over 3.0grs of Bullseye. I've never had a problem with the plastic residue that wasn't solvable by a good bore cleaning.

In a word, no. The shotshells work just fine. I did have a bit of trouble once when shooting full house loads before the shotshells, as it tended to bind the cylinder because of the shotshells jumping forward.

:cb2: Sounds pretty smart to me, Rick. Nothing crazy about protecting your investment. Your grandchildren will thank you for it.
