Which scope for Number 3 in .22 Hornet
« on: December 23, 2005, 04:50:49 AM »
I want to put a higher power scope on my number 3 Ruger .22 hornet.  Right now, it sports a 4x redfield.  I hunt fall turkey and want it for small varmints out to a hornet's practical range.  Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Smiley

a good 4 to 12 target scope should do the job something like a muller or a simons .

Yes, I'd agree with a 4x12, or even a 3x9 scope. Not anything higher powered than the 12x top end.

All three of our .22 Hornets(2 Ruger No. 1's and a Ruger M77/22 VHZ) wear Burris 6-24x 50mm Black Diamond scopes.  I want to be able to see if there is a flea on a Ground Squirrels nose at 200 plus yards.  Lawdog
