Ruger Blackhawk 357 / 9mm convertible
« on: August 01, 2005, 01:36:41 PM »
I ordered a Blackhawk 357 convertible with additional 9mm cylinder.Blued, 6 1/2" barrel.
Price was 390.00 before tax. Good deal, no deal, or average??

My other question is this, I would assume the diameter of the 357/38 bullet is the same as 9mm? Thus using the same barrel. Please expand on this issue.

The 357 uses .357 diameter bullets where the 9MM uses .355 diameter.
I have an older Speer manual that lists 110-125 gr. .357 bullets in 9MM loads, and I have shot hundreds of 110 gr. .357 bullets through a 9MM Ruger auto with good results.
I have not priced a convertable but that price seems reasonable.

I have a similar convertable, it WAS like NIB.  I picked it up for 412.50 and it had an extra 357, 9mm and 38 super  cylinders.  Shoots the 38 and 9mm cylinders well, even though 355 bullets vs 357 bore.

Here are my Convertible "Twins".  Both are 357/9mm; one stainless, one blued.
