:cb2: Does anyone other than Taurus make a revolver in .22 Hornet? I shudder to think what a custom gun would cost!

Magnum research (?) makes a SA in the hornet in their BFR line. List is $999.99; 've seen them selling for $750. or so in a SGN ad. It is on their shorter cylindered frame so it doesn't even look goofy.[/i]

Thompson Center used to make Contender barrels in that caliber. In fact, I think that the .22 Hornet was one of their original calibers.

It's not a 22 Hornet, but the S&W model 53 is chambered in a 22 Jet. They experimented with the Hornet, but had problems with gas cutting. They turn up every now and then on the auctions, but run about $900 or more.

It might not be as expensive as you expect. If a S&W K-frame can be modified to use the hornet it may be just a matter of reworking the cylinder and firing pin. I'd recommend not doing it, though. The Jet had a terrible reputation for being earsplittingly loud.

I've also heard the bottleneck cartridge has a habit of setting back when fired & jamming the action.
