Browning BPS Micro
« on: July 28, 2005, 12:29:47 PM »
After all the feedback I got from my question about Remington's 870 Express, I think that the Browning BPS is closer to what I'm looking for.  I'm only 5'7" and I find that the length of pull on most full size shotguns feels too big.  I'm thinking that maybe the BPS Micro would be a better fit, but I don't want to ask my local dealer to order one and then find out that it doesn't fit me.  Other than the shorter length of pull, I like that the Micro comes with a 22" barrel and that it's chambered for 20 gauge.  I plan to use the gun to hunt deer (Foster style slugs), turkeys, and small game.  Anyone have experience with the Micro?  Has anyone shot both the regular BPS and the Micro?  What are your thoughts?

I got a Micro a couple weeks ago----although I handle 14--14.25 LOP shotguns fairly easily----I love the Micro's 13.25LOP---part of the reason I got the Youth Express 870 too-----I just love how those little guns handle.

The Micro ain't exactly light though---at  6.75lbs---that gets you into 12ga 870 range in weight. But the smallness of it makes it quick---and at that weight of gun--recoil with a 20ga will be nothing.

And I lucked out and got a beautifull piece of lumber on my Micro-----and got a 20ga Invect+ skeet tube at CDNN for $14.99.

A little about length of pull----I restocked my 870P police trade-in with a Hogue 12.5LOP stock---while great for making it handier and  for coming around corners and such----is WAAAAAY too short for anything else.

Been going nuts on the pumpers lately---while I have one very nice Citori---all the rest of them are pumpers---1 Benelli--3 870's and the BPS Mic.

Don't expect beautifull wood if you order it in---my Citori and Micro have beautifull wood because I got to see them in the store first----crap wood would have got left in the rack---kinda gettin spoiled on the wood lately---have been coming across a lot of good lookin wood recently---and lay-a-way really helps too.

Edited for poor late nite typing.
