Ok then ya im still in high school and i was bored in basic woods class so i whipped up 2 rifle rests, the finished product looked uhhhh 'different' from my mind. picture a caldwell  front bag that is made of solid pine and has a rag stapled as padding (no scratching by wood anyway but still). Now almost 7 months later it dawns on me that the H&R/NEFs sit just perfectly on these just ideal for the hinge pin rest they so like. Had i had these rifles at the time of making them i would've made them hold the rifles better. Best thing about these is they won't shift like sand and they're nice for outdoor stationary shooting, bad things is they're non-adjustable but two packed down bags or similar work ok(a .30 cal ammo can works for my prone shooting) and kinda cumbersom to carry about.   So ya i just felt like telling this. So the morale is uhhhhh moments of boredom can have positve results :-D  :-D  :-D

"Keep on Keepin' On".  A phrase from my younger days.  

In this case, it means to keep tinkering.  That's how some of the best inventions were made.  You had an idea.  Created a object from that idea.  Now you'll perfect or adapt it to your needs.  This is how we grow mentally.  We need to continually stimulate our minds.  As long as that stimulation is for the good, not the bad.  Mistakes don't count.  Thats part of the learning.

I wouldn't doubt that your verbal "moments of bordom" have created some thought provoking ideas from those who read it.  It has for me.

When you perfect it or design something else, I for one would like to read about it.

Off topic but my Marlin .30-30 gets to educate women proper gun use and familiarization classes. My dad's friend is running it i think and he needed a lever gun and mine was picked.
