S&W revolver trigger job

Hey everyone. I really appreciate any feedback you can give.
I have inherited a S&W .38 special snub nose revolver.
The gun is double action and has no model information on it.
It is a five shot.

The gun shoots great but the trigger is WAY too stiff.

Is this trigger easily adjustable?
If so what are the steps?

The trigger is not easily adjusted. Aftermarket spring kits are available but unless you really know what you're doing a gunsmith should do the job. If you're speaking of the double action trigger pull being stiff, it's supposed to be to a point. That's your "safety" so to speak. A 12lb trigger pull has to be overcome with a deliberate effort.

The pull of both double action and single action can be improved.  The double action pull soes NOT have to be 12 pounds.  It is highly unlikely to ever be so light as to create a dangerous situation.  It is not however a do-it-yourself type job, unless you happen to be a competant pistol smith..  The model designation is usually stamped on the frame cutout where the crane mates with the frame.  such as '36-3'.  A model 36 with the 3 set of upgrades.
