Hi guys, I am looking for a good cheap springer bb gun. I had this gun before:

I had fun with it, but it had a LOT of shortcomings. It was weak, inaccurate past 30ft, took forever to reload, and dry-fired a lot.

I have about $40 to spend and want something better. I'd like something strong enough to take out a squirrel, accurate up to 100-150ft, and something with an easy reload. I don't like to move my trigger hand while cocking the gun. It MUST have a reservoir of bb's. I will not hand load them each shot.

I am not sure if any of them have a reserve of bb's. That is an absolute must to me. That is the only thing I like about my Daisy. Which ones have a reserve? I like the 38 on here though: http://impactparts.com/Guns/TechForceHunting.html

None of them shoot BB's. All shoot pellets and a few do have "clips" that hold a number of pellets but none int he $40.00 price range you quoted. The best buy on that page is the Model 97, in my opinion, but it's $79.96. It's very accurate and powerful enough to do what you want. The 40D is a spring powered, single shot. I don't know much else about it. Lawdog

I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible. Definately under $50. What gun do recommend? Once again, I want,

Sorry, none of the Tech Force line will work for you. I don't know of any air rifle that will fill your order even at 10 times the price. Lawdog

My $20 Daisy has a reservoir of like 400. I just don't like how the lever is attached to the trigger. It rakes a good 5 seconds to reload. A front lever pull down would be easier. It is also only 250-300fps with poor range.

I am looking for an upgraded BB gun basically.

This airsoft looks fun, but I am not sure if it is powerful enough. I guess I could always upgrade the spring.

Airsoft guns are not for hunting, they only shoot plastic shot. BB guns are for the most part not good for hunting either. Theres nothing like what you describe for the little money you're talking about. The Crosman 1077 is the closest thing, but has its problems. It isn't a BB gun, it shoots only pellets. BBs won't fit. If you aren't willing to load a single shot rifle, you most likely are not going to be willing to take the time to load the 12 shot rotary clips the 1077 uses.
I would say this if you want to hunt squirrels with an airgun- save up a bit more money, get a decent gun, learn to shoot it and practice so you can hit what you are shooting at. One shot is all it should take to drop a squirrel if you have a decent rifle and know how to use it. Killing squirrels with a barrage of poorly aimed low power BBs is a pretty inhumane way to hunt if you ask me.

There is no BB gun that's going to accurate at 100 to 150'. Especially if you want to hunt w/ it. 150' is a far shot for even a powerful springer when hunting.
Single shot is basically what you have to deal with when using a powerful airgun.
The rotary mags in my S&W co2 powered revolver are tedious to load, but at least allow 10 quick shots if wanted. It's not for hunting though. I don't know any powerful guns that use them. Although I think I saw an ad for a PCP gun that uses a mag, but I don't remember the name. You can be sure it's more than $50.
One thing about single shot rifles is that you learn to make the first shot count. As you get a more accurate rifle, you'll find your marksmanship getting better.
Blasting away at an animal isn't the way to hunt. A kill shot as best you can w/ 1 or 2 follow ups is the usually all that's needed.
When the crows are flying though, who wouldn't want a 20 shot semi-auto. :wink:
