Norton Holds Meeting On Plan to Ease Gun Limits Washington (AP) - D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (website - news - bio) will hold a community meeting tonight. She wants to hear from D.C. residents about a congressional proposal to ease the city's gun limits.
D.C. Mayor Anthony Williams and Police Chief Charles Ramsey also are expected to attend the meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Shaw Junior High School in Northwest.
The House voted last month to prohibit the District from enforcing a law that requires firearms kept in homes to be unloaded and disassembled, or to have a safety lock on the trigger.
The Senate has yet to vote on the proposal.
