Ruger No. 1B re-stock and accurizing?

I need some help here, as I will be going on an Elk hunt (New Mexico) in the fall of this year. I have 3 rifles to choose from: Rem Model 7 in 7mm-08, NEF handi 280 rem, and a Ruger #1B in 7mm Mag.

I think I want to take the 7mm Mag. due to the potential for some long shots, and it has the best optics on it (Nikon Monarch 3x9x50). However, it is not a great shooter with 100yd groups at 1.5 to 2.0 inches being normal.

Here are my questions:

Are there any good replacement stocks available for the #1? (the wood is too pretty to mess up)

What process should I undertake to accurize the rifle? (trigger has been done, it is much nicer than the lawyer trigger it came with)

Or, should I just sell the thing and get a new bolt gun for the trip?

I'd be loath to change stocks and endure the setup a new stock requires this late.  I might work a bit on the No.1, but 1 1/2 inches ain't that bad..  Do you handload?  If not, have you tried various loads in the Ruger?  I use a load consisting of the 160 Nosler Partition and a generous helping of 4350(I think).  As to scars on the wood, I wouldn't consider them scars as much as memories.  Rifles are made to be used..hunted with..  A scratch honorably earned is a memory of a thicket or maybe a slip on a talus slope..perhaps just at the moment we see him..  Ignore the previous, just an old mans revere...  There are sopme standard things we can do that should help the No.1 shoot it's best.  Most are fairly simple and if you feel up to it we can help..  The 7mag is likely a bit better than the other 2 you listed as it handles the heavier for caliber bullets a bit better(that's what the magnums are for)and the extra energy and penetration of a 160-175 grain bullet can help...  especially if the shot angle is less than optimum.
