Ordered my .270 Ultra-Comp, was looking at a couple of different scopes and would like your opinions. Burris Fullfield II 3x9, or Simmons Aetec 3.8x12 AO with Illuminated Reticle. I have a Burris on my .300 Win, was wondering if anyone has had experience with the Aetec. Thanks

Mueller would be a good choice. Alot of members here have put them on their handis and ultras.

Both are good scopes...but if your not familiar with using a scope with an A/O in the field for hunting...I would opt for the Burris you mentioned...or any other good 3x9 scopes...

I absolutely LOVE my new Swift Premier 3-9x40. It's a trade that I got from theier factory for a 2-7x40 that I thought had lost it's zero. Mine is the BRAND NEW one......2005. I think Eabco.com has them for around $130. Any of the Swift Premier line of scopes is a good choice.
But by the same token, the others mentioned are good choices also and some that I wouldn't mind owning either.

the Simmons Aetec is hard to beat, I have owned several on high-recoiling guns and have never had one fail me. Simmons has become my go-to brand for scopes. I have never had any fail me of several grades.

I have an Aetec, but not the AO model, on my Savage 30-06 and it has been excellent. Great eye relief too. Never used a Burris but haven't read anthing bad about them either.

Thanks guys, have been off the net for a day, only get on the computer in the evenings. Still undecided, but will have to make up my mind shortly. I called customer service today, they said my gun should ship Mon or Tues of next week. That's pretty good turn-around time, has been there less than a week.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice, I've never heard a bad word about any of the Aetecs or the Burris FFII, but I've not heard anything about the IR Aetec, so you're on your own hook there. I have a 3-9x40 FFII with the Ballistic Plex reticle, if I were going to recommend any Burris, it would be that model, great glass and priced right.
