Instead of complaining here, return the barrel from where you bought it or contact T/C. If you don't give them a chance to make it right, you have no reason to complain in my opinion.

Yes, contact T/C and I'm sure they will make it right.  Furthermore, Midway will likely refund your money on the barrel, so contact them as well.

Midway told me to send the barrel to tc. tc told me they would only give me another barrel. They wouldn't even pay for shipping. But I guess that how they make it right.

Let me get this straight.  You bought goods from a store that was rusty when you got it.  The store won't stand behind it telling you to send it to the manufacturer.  The manufacturer agreed to give you a new barrel, but you have to pay the shipping.  So now you are mad at the manufacturer who had no control over the goods once they were out of their factory.  What kind of sense does that make?

i dont think tc should pay for the barrel to ship to them or back to you they are not in the fault but  an this is a big but
midway should an they at least i think midway has the wrost customer service known to man an i can see how they say you have to pay shipping  hearing the bad comments they have had from other people an my self

3 years ago i got two bushnell pistol scopes an uncle mikes holster an a weaver no tap scope mount for a super backhawk

when i ordered it i spent a good penny on shipping an go the  4-8 day shipping an it showed up on the 10th day an the box was post marked 4 days after i ordered it an the next day ther people said it was shipped

but heres the worst part
opeing the box i had found the  scope mount box to be mangled ripped an looked like even water dammage to it an the lug that gos on to the barrel of the gun was missing half of the blueing or pait what ever it is
now this is 2 weeks before i left to go hunting  the customer service people told me ther was two ways of geting this fixed
 1) was to pay ""ME"" pay for shipping back them the mount an they would send me another one an i ""ME"" would have to pay return shiping but they couldent give me a yes or no if the new one would be back here in 14 days unless i over nighted it both ways
2) i buy a new one off of them an pay shipping once again an when i got it pay shipping for the old one back to them an then when they get it they would reimburs me the difference

i was out raged on ther service an have spent the last 3 years telling every one an any one how not to order from ther company being that i am in retail in the sporting goods market i cant even start to count the number of people ive steared a way from ther company

but the one good thing from this was i talked to the weaver customer service after talking to midways an they were not so happy how one of ther dealers hander ther products or service an the weaver personel sent me the lug free of charge with over night shipping... when i called them it was to see if i could order a lug from them but low an behold how good ther people are an stand behind ther products an all so told me to just keep the old lug just in case i ever nead one

thats how companys should handle ther  issues

so i think tc is going the distance yes you had to pay for shipping but who are they to pay out of ther pocket for the miss handling of ther barrels by midway

Any time that I've returned an item to ANY manufacturer,I've paid the freight to them. They'll ship it back on  their dime.
I recently sent a barrel back to TC and it came back on FEDX overnite. Yes,they had the barrel for 2weeks prior, but they did expedite freight when returning it.

I got a Stainless 7-30 bbl. from Ed's TC last year. It arrived w/ some rust in the bore also.   I probably could have scrubbed it out w/ no pitting but it was after all a brand new bbl. I called Ed and he told me to ship it back to TC. However, he went above and beyond by sending me another bbl. sight unseen that made it to Alaska in 3 days. I sent 1st bbl. back to factory w/ note explaining that Ed had already replaced it but they scrubbed it out and sent it back to me anyway. I then had to mail that one back to Ed.
Moral(s) of the story: Ed is a stand up guy- Someone at TC can't read directions- I paid shipping on the bbl. 3 times-  Ed paid to send replacement at his cost.
I ended up w/ a good bbl. but TC is still shipping them in plastic w/ no corrosion protection :?
Hurrah fer mountain doin's- :D
