Brand New & Tuning?

After silently reading this great forum and contemplating many springers I've finally made my choice.  I have also been in contact with a reputable tuner.  I was going to have the springer sent directly to his address from the online store to have it tuned and some extras done to it.  Is this recommended before I put any rounds down her?  The trigger assembly I am having put in it comes highly recommended and being familiar with this springer anyway the work is needed but not having the 1000-2000 rounds through it am I wasting a good tune job?  Appreciate your comments.

I'm almost embarrassed to say but it's a Silver Shadow and Charlie the Tuna is doing the tuning.  I know there's a lot of Gamo bashing but I had it narrowed down to 3 different makes and Charlie aka Bob recommended the Gamo even over the TF-99 (sorry Lawdog).  I respect your opinions and appreciate your advice.  Thanks for responding.

No offense taken.  I know Charlie prefers Gamo over any Chinese rifle, he should he works on enough of them.  And it's not really "Gamo bashing", it's really warnings over the fact that if you have a problem with a Gamo product don't expect Gamo to honor the warrantee.  I know a guy on another air gun forum that owned a number of Gamo products(both pistols and rifles) that used to get so upset every time anyone would "bash" Gamo.  That is until he finally had a problem with one of his newer Gamo rifles. He contacted Gamo fully expecting them to honor the warrantee and either fix or replace his rifle.  They never did either.  Now he is a bigger “basher” of Gamo than any I have ever seen.  I wish you all the luck in the world with yours.  Lawdog

I appreciate your honesty.  Now back to my original question, is it recommended to have a tune job done before I even fire one shot?  I read a lot about springers "breaking in" after a few thousand rounds.  Thanks again for your help.

I prefer having the rifle tuned when it's new.  Saves time and the trouble it there was a problem with something like seals, springs, etc.  I have broke in a number of pellet rifles and the time it takes all depends on the rifle.  With some the accuracy really isn't very good until it is broke in.  But again I believe it's all boils down to personal preference.  I vote for sending it in to be tuned when it's new.  Lawdog

Thanks a lot Lawdog, like I said from reading this forum you can tell who knows what they are talking about and you are definately one of them so I appreciate your opinion.  I am going to have it shipped directly to Charlie and have the work done.  And if all goes well (knock on wood) I won't have to worry about contacting the company for any warranty work.  Thanks again and I'm sure I'll talk to you again with more newbie questions.  Later.

Can some one give me some recommendations for tuning an RWS 48. I see the tuning is recommended but not who does it.
