How do these things load and shoot I am looking for an alternative to Powerbelts. Shockwaves, even with thinner sabots and a swab are too much work to load. I thought these might be worth a shot.

They load just as easy as powerbelts. Buy them from midsouth shooters supply for $8.78/pk of 15. I use the 300 grain in the Encore .50 and killed two deer last season with them. Bullet went threw the ribs/lungs and left half dollar size hole on both sides.

At the range I was getting 1.5" groups at 100 yds. with T7 pellets. I switched to loose T7 FFg this year and had to send the Leupold scope to factory for repairs, so I have some shooting to do before this year seasons open. I for one will be glad for cooler weather to arrive so I can get more shooting time in.

I was like you last year, looking for a replacement for the powerbelts. In case you haven't seen them, the sabertooths sit on a short sabot and are not attached like powerbelts are by a post to the sabot. The hollowpoint is serrated also unlike the powerbelts. I haven't recovered any to see how they expand, but as I said above the big half-dollar size holes speak for themselves. Hope you like them.

I tried the 300 & 350gr Saberteeth out of my Knight USAK a couple months ago and was very unhappy with their accuracy performance. My rifle likes the heavier projectiles, but it just would not shoot these well. The groups were more like patterns and even over my chronograph, there was a lot of variation between each shot in a group.
Inspection of the recovered sabot cups showed some of the cups were cut significantly by the rifling and other cups were hardly even touched by the rifle's grooves.
From what I saw with my shooting, I'd say Harvester's quality control left something to be desired with these bullets. I will test some more as soon as my broken shoulder heals............but so far, the Saberteeth are far below the standard I hold for both my hunting & shooting rounds.

My Encore .50 liked them and the short cups showed good rifling marks and no blown problems. Granted the sabertooths cosmetics aren't smooth, but it doesn't effect anything. Maybe just the difference in the two rifles and what each one shoots the best.
