44 Mag in a 444

I saw this question on Gunbroker, but no real evidence or solid answers yet. Can you or should you be able to fire a 44mag in a 444 chambered gun.
Thanks for any feedback.

NO, 44 mag cannot be shot in a 444 marlin, 444 case has a slight taper & is a 45 colt rim tapered to 44 neck
That's my boy, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

One Hole is right.  The base of the .444 chamber is much too big for a .44 magnum case. Someone could try it once or twice and get away with it, but eventually there would be a ruptured case.
