.500 S+W Accessory Barrel

I called H+R/NEF on Wednesday to check on availability of the .500 S+W Handi. They told me that I would need to have my gun dealer call about an expected shipping date if I wanted to order one. I also asked about it's availability as an accessory barrel and they said they do have them ready to go. I ordered the 30-06 and will send it off for the accessory .500 barrel. With any Handi I've bought in the past, I've always just bought the entire rifle, never an accessory barrel. Mainly because the triggers have all been worked on with the exception of my BC. Do I need to ship the whole rifle back to them, or just the frame and forearm?

If you're gonna have a barrel fitted all you ned to send them is the frame and forearm. They will send you back a complete rifle.

I wouldn't send any part of the stock to them. Ask Quick about that. When i ordered my ultracomps all i sent in was the frame. The only reason they ask you to send the stock in is to test fire it.

After discussing the stock or no stock with Mac, we decided that they have to test fire it, with or without a stock, so send em just the frame, they can put one of their stocks on it to test fire it....costs a lot less and is eaiser to ship to em, too!!

Thanks for the advise guys. I really didn't like the idea of mailing anything I didn't need to. The less the package looks like a rifle, the better.
