u.s. arms abilene worth?
« on: March 28, 2006, 04:42:54 PM »
Does anyone know who actually made the .44  Mag stainless Abilene  or if the company exists? I am trying to find its worth? This single action shows the stamping "u.s. arms-div.A.I.G. , new haven , conn, Abilene.

Thanks

That gun is one that was made under Mossberg ownership, I believe. I have a very early one that I picked up for $165. It is well used but still extremely tight with a fine trigger and very, very accurate to boot. I have heard that quality varied some as the years went on so check it out well before you buy.

My thanks to all those who replied with information on the Abilene. Now I have a better idea of its value.

Abilene's were never made in Stainless. For more info go to www.singleactions.com.
