Whose got the 445sm reamer right now?
« on: August 31, 2005, 06:24:03 AM »
Haven't seen anyone talking about it in a few days.

Sorry if I'm a bit annoying, but I am pretty wound up about doing this a just want to get an idea of how much longer I have to wait for my turn.

Fess up ... who's got it ...

Is it hard to get back in? When i drive the pin out, spring won't shoot across the room will it?

I haven't got it yet, it is somewere in USPS. By May list warf73 is to get it next. If I don't get it tomorrow I will have to have someone pickup my mail and forward it, and I will go to the bottom. As of fri I will be leaving for the Gulf Coast with the Red Cross. Thanks. Bob

It appears astho someone has changed the list. I went back and checked the orginal list and it has been changed. I don''t care who gets it next. I only have warf73's address. I do not have a address for varmiter. Thanks. Bob

Ironduke I hope it gets there for you but I understand you have more important things to do

Varmiter, Yes the spring will go sprong hold your finger infront of the hole when you drive the pin out (muzzel side of the ejector) you may need a 3rd hand to get it back in, its managable but not without some work

if it is not removed the reamer may not get far enough into the barrel

Here are the instructions for removing the ejector....the rear pin is the one removed, not the front. The punch will prevent the ejector from ejecting untill you remove it and the pin..

http://www.brimstonepistoleros.com/Articles/hr-ejector-mod.html

If you can hold the ejector in when you install it, it makes it a lot easier. I trap it against my gun Tipton gun vise so I don't need 3 hands!!

Thanks One Hole. So i just drive the pin out of the side of the lug while holding my finger over the ejector. When i put it back together i put the spring back in then the ejector, compress it then drive the pin back in. Right?

Ironduke, I salute you for your work with the Red Cross. I wish there was some way i could go down there to help out. I know there probably isn't much i could do but i love to help. I wanna do more than just a money donation. Ya know what I mean?

It's not hard to get back in. I helps to have a punch of the right size to remove the ejector, and you don't have to drive the pin that holds it in all the way out, if my memory serves me right. Seems like when I did the .357 max all I did was drive the pin out far enough for it to release the ejector, made it easier to re-assemble. I don't remember mine shooting across the room.

I asked to be put on the bottom of the list, still no barrel.
I'm going to give H&R a call later today after I get back from Dove hunting. I really hope they have barrels in stock :?

When I called them 2 weeks ago I was told it might be 3-6 weeks before there next shipment comes in not 4 months like I was told before.

If they are getting close I'm going to tear down the H&R again and send it on its way.

All I'm lacking for the 445sm is the brass (well and barrel), picked up the powder I'm going to try first yesterday. I have a box of Hornady 300gr. XTP that I really want to try out.

Make sure you post range reports

all the address cards are in the box ready for each of you to use and they are made out.the original list changed some because warf73 didnt have a barrel yet.he asked to be placed on the bottom of the list.
