.25 WSSM is More then Expected!
« on: August 14, 2005, 09:28:33 AM »
Well I decided to take the jump to the .25 WSSM instead of the .243.  I used the 120 gr Pep cartridges from Winchester.  It performed very well considering it was factory ammo.  I am waiting for a set of dies and some brass to get down to business.  I am not satisfied with anything other then my own reloads.  Not that the factory stuff is not adequate.

My only problem now is that there is not too much out there as far as loads for this new piece.  I did find a few recepies from IMR and Hodgdon, but nothing else out there.  Well at least it is a start.   :)

Anyone out there come up with a favorite load for this fine weapon?

I bought the Winchester Model 70 in Super Shadow.  This is my second super shadow.  First is a .300 WSM and I love it.

Muzzleblast:
I got my hands on a couple of boxes of 117 gr. Spitzer Flat Base Sierras that my local toy story had sitting on the shelf for a while.  I also got a box of Speer 100gr boat tails and a box of 100 gr Sierra Spitzers.  I will start on them and work up to the high dollar bullets for hunting.  I never used the Varget powder.  Do they have a loads posted at their site?
