Spoke with Dawg yesterday about 6:30 PM. He was still waiting to make the call on staying or leaving. Who knows Chick, he may be on your doorstep with 8 or 9 dogs when you get home.

As of 8 AM this morning, I have not been able to contact anyone on the coast from New Orleans to Mobile.  As soon as I hear something, I will post up to this site.  We need to pray for EVERYONE in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

At this point I would welcome him and all the dogs he would care to bring...

Would assume that by no word he stayed?

Deason called me around noon and had heard from Dawg.  He had a few shingles taken off and little other damage.  A lot of trees south of him toward the coast along his property line were snapped.  Still spotty service via land lines or cell and hard to get in touch with anyone south of Hattiesburg.

Deason heard from Jerry Tureau this morning and he is okay as well as the Leer's and Eddie Dugal.  Madeline Williams, Clark's sister, is okay but lost everything.  No one has heard from Ronnie Moak.

Dan Healy called my office this morning and talked to Robin.  He and Linda got out of New Orleans by the skin of their teeth!  His house was only two blocks from the first levee breach!  They have lost EVERYTHING and were in Alabama with relatives.  They are on the way to Florida to stay with Linda's mother.  He said that he will not make it to the Arkansas match.

When I hear other news, I will post it on this forum.  If you are not from Louisiana, you cannot fathom the despair in our part of the US.  The new media is doing a great job, but cannot adequately describe our problems.  The evacuees in our part of the state were the people that headed the warnings and left before the storm hit.  95% of them had real jobs and are trying to find work doing ANYTHING!  Most of the people that you see on the television in New Orleans did not leave because they did not believe the warnings or were too poor to be able and leave.  I believe that most did not have the means to leave at such a short notice for such a fast and powerful storm!  The looters were going to stay regardless and they are running rampant!

Please pray for these people and our state!

I was able to get through to Mr. Culpepper this afternoon via cell phone and passed on the information that David posted concerning our friends in Louisiana. James wanted me to thank those of you who have offered your assistance in this time of great need, but has graciously declined. He's doing OK and hopes to have power restored by Monday or Tuesday. He also asked me to let every one know that Nick made it back from Germany today, has surveyed the damage to his place and is doing fine, all things considered. Unless things change a great deal, he will be unable to attend the Arkansas match due to conditions approaching marshall law. He also asked that I pass on a special "You better be glad I'm not going to be there" to Troy and Cathy. He was shooting very well the past few weeks......

I talked to Dan Healy this morning and he is now in Florida at his Mother's-in-law house.  He and Linda got out of New Orleans on Wednesday after the storm.  They were staying because Linda worked at a hospital and had to evacuate when their safety could not be gauranteed anymore!

They were able to get out over the only bridge left in town.  They have lost everything and do not know when they will be able to go back in and check on what could possibly be salvaged.

Everyone else faired pretty well but no one has heard from Ronnie Moak.  Dan said that Ronnie lived in a one-story flat roof house and if he did not evacuate, it could be big problems.  Please put Ronnie in your thoughts and prayers.

I just got off the telephone with Jerry Tureau and he said that he had heard from all the shooters down there except for Joe Termini.  He thinks that Joe is okay as he lives on the west bank.  Wands, Beeson everyone is okay.  He did hear from Ronnie Moak yesterday and he is in Bogue Chita, Mississippi.  He got away with his Mother and sister but all his guns are under water.  Jerry will be in Arkansas.

To you all, thanks for the concerns, help and prayers, me and mine are safe and I will be at the Ark shoot, got power last sunday, so I decided the looters were done and had had enough of me and old painless, so I will be there to relate all of the horror stories and good things that have blessed me in the last two weeks.

Again thanks, just knowing ya'll were out there made my days seemed less trying.

Sometimes you do not know how blessed you are till you need a blessing.
