Release button

I didn't know what else to call it but I am talking about the button you push down to break the barrel. When my barrel is in the closed position this button is very loose but when the barrel is in the "open" postition the button is tight. Is this normal? Any ideas what this could be?

It's working properly.

Depending how loose it is, it is an indication of limited latch engagement and will alow the latch to slide causing vertical stringing. There should only be a lttle wigle.

Quickdtoo will tell you how to fix it.

You don't need to tighten it up, it's normal for the release button to be loose when the barrel is installed and action closed. The button shouldn't be loose when the action is open.
