Blanks vs. projectiles?

Discussions in other topics have led me to create this poll.

I shoot blanks and live rounds with ball, but the ratio swings heavily in favor of the blank.

As much as I love to send balls downrange, I would be missing out on a lot of shooting fun (and showing off my cannon) if I only fired in places safe to shoot projectiles.

Both are fun but in different ways and for different occasions.

So what say you all?

I live in an area zoned "Rural Living" where the lots are mostly 1 3/16 acres but only 82 feet wide (unless they are a multiple of that.)  Surrounding that is various variations on city.  Presumably it is illegal to fire any firearms here but on Independence Day when there are explosions from all types of illegal fireworks going on about me, I have fired a few blanks.  Otherwise I fire only shotted shots in the desert.

Where I live it is quite legal to fire shotgun on my property.... can't say as I do though as those clay pidgeons would just make too much of a mess.  I suppose a 2 1/4" bore Napoleon loaded with a couple pounds of #7 1/2 shot could be loosely considered a shotgun but I don't think I would care to press the issue with the local authorities.  So for me, it is exclusively a pound and a half zinc ball headed towards a safe backstop.
