My troublesome 209X50
« on: October 21, 2005, 04:50:22 PM »
I've tried nearly every load combo possible for my encore 209X50, pyrodex powder, pellets, 777, powerbelts, sabots, conicals, etc.  So far the best results I've got are 3"/50yds, most are much larger.

The rifle is scoped wth a proven 4X Leupold in Weavers and mounts are not loose.  Trigger is set to about 2# and the pin is tight (will shoot 0.5" groups with centerfire bbls).  Some of my buddies say its time to send to T/C for a replacement bbl, what do ya'll think?

Well if you tried all that, send it back. Give them detailed information on all the loads and  powerbelts, sabots, conicals, etc.

if it is a factory barrel send it back or have a gunsmith cut off the QLA and recrown.  Mine will shoot around 3" at the 200meter range so you definately have a problem with the barrel.
