If you can shoot the big stuff out of Contenders and Encores, I think the 454, 460, 480 and the 500S&W aren't as bad(out of revolvers). A guy at the sportsman club I'm president of had all of them at the range friday and I shot a box of factory 500 and two boxes of factory 460 so he could down load the brass to his liking. The weight of the guns plus 3x12 Burris's on each one made them tame even with the heavy factory loads. The 460 ammo was xtremly accurate. The 480 actually had more recoil only because it didn't have a scope on it. The 500 Smith was a blast to shoot.I don't even want to think how much $$$$ I burnt up for him friday morning. My 375JDJ, 45/70 and the 450Marlin I had at the range hurt him more than the his revolers.
