I just got the reamer today. I'm gonna go pick up a T-handle and take the ejector out. I'll get it done tonight and will get it back in the mail monday.

i do have one question though. Is there supposed to be some kind on stop on the reamer so you know how far to go?

Below is a quote from on of jeff223's posts:

when you do this rechamber you will want the ejector all the way in.if you are carefull when you take your barrel off the frame the ejector wont pop out,it will stay in.just coat the reamer with the thread cutting oil and put the reamer in the chamber until it stops.then start turning the reamer with the T handle.you will want to turn the reamer some and remove the reamer to clean off the metal shavings from the reamer.you should also run a patch down the bore at this time to clean any metal shavings away from the throat and rifling.after you have done that recoat the reamer with the cutting oil and start the process over again.it will take about 3 or 4 cleanings of the reamer to compleat the job.make sure you dont cut the recess for the rim of the case any deeper than it is from the factory.the reamer will kind of stop right there anyway

Hope this helps. He leaves the ejector in, taking it out is fine.8)

Hey Varmiter; I finally got around to chrono'ing some 265 gr.Hornady today, and they came in on average at 2066 fps.I was using either 30.5 or 31 grs of 296. I also loaded some 270 gr. gold dots, with a midrange load for the 300 gr. bullet with 29.5 grs. of 296 and got 1746 fps. It shot exactly the same as Lik2hunt's 4570 factory Rem. 300 gr. loads. With the same load the 265 shoot's the 270 gr.bullet should about equal it.We placed the chrono about 20 ft. from the muzzle. The gold dot load had a 2 ft. per second  spread. Digger

Dadgummit Digger you're making me jealous.   :D   I got all the stuff and waiting my turn with the reamer. 8) If you don't mind me asking, did you chrony any of you .44 mag. loads before you reamed it, and if so what were your speeds like? Thanks 8)  8)

I know this won't help with handloads but you know remington has the ballistics comparer. I was comparing so loads on there and happened to look at the 44 mags. There test gun had a 20in. barrel. If you don't have a chrono that might give you an idea.

im glad to see the rechambers are going good.

i just got back from North Dakota this morning and just thought i would check out this before i got alittle sleep.i didnt kill a mule deer buck with a bow and arrow but i sure saw lots of big mule bucks there.that keeps me going there after them in N Dakota.

ive got to go find the rechamber list now and edit it because i added someone to the list before i left.that fellow must of changed his mind because he never sent payment
