Anyone tried a huntsman foreend on rifle?
« on: September 06, 2005, 04:19:21 PM »
Been thinking of getting fluted varmit syn forend for my rifle instead of little syn one that came on gun. Just had thought of trying my syn huntsman forend on it, but my gun is at HR having a 308 barrel fitted and getting the original 243 refitted never would shoot, fits loose. don't know if it will fit on rifle barrel haven't tried, has anyone else?

I use the wooden one on my 30-30 setup and it seems to shoot better that way than with the shnables. I like the way it looks and the extra length seems to be the ticket in providing more stability to increase accuracy. I wouldn't hesitate using that style foreend on any of my Handis. Don't have any synthetic ones tho so I couldn't say about those. So go ahead and try it, you might be surprised.............or dissapointed...............you just never really know about these little rifles until you try something.

I've  had great luck with the Choate stock and fore end, like comes on the Fluted Varmit models. Reduces recoil in my 308 and 45-70 and improves my accuracy.
