I started out with 280s many years ago.I now use almost all 330s,I have never had a problem holding my otters in 330s.Also the larger opening on 330s,leaves a larger window--thus fewer refusals from large beaver.
330s are my trap of choice.

Regardles of what you here about the 330's on Otter, they are a great trap when properly tuned to fire without too much play in the trigger. As far as beaver....hands down 330 for the reason mentioned above by Tom.

we like the 330 but in southern illinois it can only be used in water. but our 330's have did a number on beaver.  have never tried a 280 but have caught some in 220's.
Some  people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

Most states require that a 330 be in the water.Unless in a truly isolated or wilderness area, keep them in the water.
I have trapped, where 330s were legal on land,I still half submerged mine in the water.

#330 are wonderful for beaver, they have a larger kill area than the 280's and if they are legal on land where u are at, they are great for coons as well
