I shoot pure lead conicals in my blackpowder muzzle loaders. Does anyone know how the Lee liquid alox will work as a lube ??

Missed_shotI make my own liquid alox and it works just fine in my 50 cal and 58 cal just lube your bullets up a week or two before you go shooting but in a pinch you can lube them and shake baby powder over then to dry them it will not hurt your gun any I hope this helps  8) Forest T

I have tried Lee Liquid Alox alone on some 41 Long Colt bullets and on some 50cal muzzle loading hollow-base minie balls.  Both were with black powder.  Neither one had any leading, but neither one had any accuracy, either.  The Alox did nothing to keep the BP fouling soft.  When you get hard fouling, the next soft lead bullet will deform and not be accurate.

I put BP lube on top of the liquid Alox and get good results from that.

I find my own lube is excellent in my 50 cal. and 54 cal. flinters
60/40 mix of beeswax and lard and a table spoon of olive oil .I also use this on my patch .015 and  never had any problem with barral fouling and groups :D  :-D  :)
