I'm looking at new loads for 38 special and am wondering if you've tried 158 grain cast bullets and IMR 4756? The load I saw was quite a lot faster than loads for other powders, except Power Pistol. Have you tried it and found it to be good?

I would like to find a good load for a 2" using a heavy for caliber bullet. Was the test barrel for the data you found for a 2"?
Thanks,

The data is in the Speer manual and it's for a 6" S&W K frame

I used SR4756 years ago in a .357 Magnum - I loaded 20ga. shotshells with it.  No chrono back then but it was reasonably accurate and made a lot of noise!  As I recall it was a bit dirty but my memory there could be faulty, it was 30 years ago.
