Living in the past? You cannot change what has been, only what is to be. While the past cannot predict the future, it is an indicator. Considering where we were, to where we are, it does not seem like "staying the course", is leading us to where we would like to be.

And if we quit prosecuting the war on terror as the Libs would like to do, we can end up as a pile of smoldering embers..
Sometimes though, I think that some Libs would like to see the USA in that condition..
Their hate for traditional American values and tradition and the venom they spout daily seem to indicate that I'm not far off in that assessment..

How about prosecuting it with the intent of crushing the insurgency, instead of thinking, that the Iraqi police or army will eventually, no matter how many of our troops get killed while waiting for them to do it. Remember how well the ARVN did against the NVA, and we trained them for 10 years. Lets fight to win, instead of providing targets.

Just this past week Marines, accompanied by a few Afghan govt troops knocked off some 100 Taliban "homeboys", with no losses to themselves.
The only casualties the "homeboys" caused, were on a convoy with a hidden explosive device....every time the "homeboys" go face-to-face they get their heads handed to them...
