My experience with the BFR is very limited (one) but, based on what I've seen, I'd have to say that they are very similar in overall value to the Ruger Blackhawks. Yes, they are different, but I would say they are neither better nor worse overall. The extra expense they can get for their guns comes not from the quality they achieve so much as the novelty of what they produce. I believe that Ruger produces an aesthetically better quality product while the BFR may have better functional tolerances. My BFR is currently at the factory for warranty work and has been there for over a month. It had a QC issue related to the timing of the cylinder. I think they'd have to prove abuse from a handload to be able to use that as a defining warranty issue.
