Results from Remington Klean bore primer
« on: August 30, 2005, 07:01:42 AM »
Sorry it took so long to post but have been busy.

Well I tried the new primer with 100 gr of 777 powder in pellet form with a Hornady XTP 300gr and a harvester sabot. And I saw NO change in the crud ring. After the 1st shot from the Omega I could not reload a second shot, I had to disassemble the gun and push the load out of the barrel.
After I brushed the bore clean I put the 777 away and tried the BM3 powder with 90 gr and after the first shot with this powder I was able to reload a second shot and then a 3rd and a 4th shot but that was it, on the 5th load the bullet got stuck 4 or 5 inch from being seated and I had to take the gun apart and clean it to keep shooting.

By the way the recoil from the BM3 iseems double that of the 777 or pyrodex I think that a person could start at 80 and work up and find the sweet spot for accuracy....

I am not impressed so far with the Klean bore primer.

I am going to try and purchase the 25 acp conversion for this Omega.

Anybody else try the primer yet? Results?
Better ideas??????

I tried the Kleanbores as well and wasn't overy impressed.  They seemed to produce nearly the same results as regular 209's.  I was shooting 110 gr. of T7... didn't notice a crud ring, I seem to have gotten rid of that problem.  Then again I also clean between every shot.
