Bear bait question
« on: August 12, 2005, 09:59:18 AM »
I was checking out the new Gander Mt store that opened up near me and was looking in the attractant scents they had there. They had some liquid scent that smelled just like maraschino cherries do.I was wondering if anyone ever used something like this and if it was effective.Thanks.

Bear bait question

I have tried a cherry scent made by Bear Scents Inc.  They work excellent, really it gets that bear to find the bait for the first time.  After that the fresh smell of the generally helps the bear come in more comfortably.  I have tried the cherry, honey, loganberry, corn, hickory, blueberry, bacon, and anise.  All worked good for me.  I run about 25 baits each season.
